How to Prepare Pureed Apples for Babies

Ingredients:

  • Fresh apples

Instructions:

  1. Peel and Core Apples: Start by peeling the apples and removing the cores. Choose sweet, ripe apples for a naturally sweet puree.
  2. Chop the Apples: Cut the apples into small, even pieces to ensure even cooking.
  3. Cook the Apples: Place the apple pieces in a saucepan and add just enough water to cover them. Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft, which typically takes about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Blend to Puree: Once the apples are soft, let them cool slightly. Then blend them using a food processor or blender until you achieve a smooth puree.
  5. Adjust Consistency: If the puree is too thick, you can add some of the water used for cooking to thin it out. For older babies, you can keep the puree chunkier.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the puree cool to room temperature before serving to your baby.

Suitable Age: Apple puree is suitable for babies around 6 months of age, as they start exploring solid foods. It's a great source of fiber and vitamin C.

Note: Always ensure the food is at a safe temperature before feeding your baby. Additionally, consult with a pediatrician before introducing new foods into your baby's diet.
