How to Prepare Pureed Carrots for Babies
Ingredients:
- Fresh carrots
Instructions:
- Peel and Chop Carrots: Begin by peeling the carrots and chopping them into uniform pieces. This ensures even cooking.
- Cook the Carrots: Place the carrot pieces in a saucepan and add just enough water to cover them. Boil until they are soft, which typically takes about 10-15 minutes.
- Blend to Puree: Drain the carrots and let them cool slightly. Then, blend them in a food processor or blender until smooth.
- Adjust Consistency: If the puree is too thick, add a bit of the cooking water or breast milk to thin it out. For older babies, you can make the puree slightly chunkier.
- Cool and Serve: Let the puree cool to room temperature before feeding it to your baby.
Suitable Age: Carrot puree is suitable for babies around 6 months of age when they start to explore solid foods. Carrots are a good source of beta-carotene, fiber, and vitamin A.
Note: Always check the temperature before feeding and consult with a pediatrician before introducing new foods into your baby's diet.
