How to Prepare Pear Puree for Babies
Ingredients:
- Fresh pears
Instructions:
- Peel and Core Pears: Begin by peeling the pears and removing the cores. Select ripe pears for a naturally sweet puree.
- Chop the Pears: Cut the pears into small pieces to ensure they cook evenly.
- Cook the Pears: Place the pear pieces in a saucepan and add a small amount of water. Cook over medium heat until the pears are tender, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
- Puree the Pears: Once the pears are soft, let them cool slightly. Then blend them in a food processor or blender until you get a smooth consistency.
- Adjust Thickness: If the puree is too thick, add a bit of the cooking water to reach the desired consistency. For older babies, you can leave the puree slightly chunky.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the puree to cool to room temperature before serving it to your baby.
Suitable Age: Pear puree is ideal for babies starting from 6 months of age, as they begin to explore solid foods. Pears are gentle on the stomach and a good source of fiber and vitamin C.
Note: Always check the temperature of the puree to ensure it's safe for your baby to eat. Consult with a pediatrician before introducing new foods to your baby's diet.
