Recipe and Instructions:
- Ingredients:
- 1 chicken thigh (boneless and skinless)
- 2 medium carrots
- Preparing the Chicken:
- Rinse the chicken thigh and pat it dry.
- In a pot, add enough water to cover the chicken and bring it to a boil.
- Simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
- Once cooked, let it cool and then chop it into small pieces.
- Preparing the Carrots:
- Peel the carrots and slice them into rounds.
- Boil or steam the carrot slices until they are soft, about 10-15 minutes.
- Drain and let them cool.
- Making the Puree:
- In a blender or food processor, combine the cooked chicken and carrots.
- Blend until smooth. If needed, add a little water, breast milk, or formula to reach the desired consistency.
Assembly:
- Serve the puree in a bowl. You can reserve a few slices of cooked carrot as finger food if your baby is ready for more texture.
Age Suitability:
- This meal is suitable for babies aged 7-12 months. It is a great way to introduce protein from chicken and the nutritional benefits of carrots.
Always check the temperature of the puree before feeding and supervise your baby during mealtime.
