Apple and Carrot Puree Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium apple
  • 2 medium carrots

Instructions:

  1. Peel and Chop: Peel the apple and carrots. Remove the core from the apple and chop both into small pieces.
  2. Steam: Place the apple and carrot pieces in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam until they are soft, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Mashing: Transfer the steamed apple and carrot to a bowl. For a thicker texture, mash them with a fork or potato masher instead of blending.
  4. Adjust Consistency: If the mash is too thick, add a little water or breast milk/formula to reach the desired consistency.
  5. Cool Down: Let the puree cool down to a safe temperature before feeding.

Tips:

  • Always check the temperature before serving.
  • Introduce one ingredient at a time and wait a few days before introducing another, to monitor for any allergic reactions.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours, or freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage.

Suitable age: Suitable for babies around 6 to 8 months, make sure that they have already tried both apple and carrot separately before introducing a mixture
